Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

December 9, 2007

Yet another Wii game that makes good use of the controllers and does not detract from gameplay. Older people can enjoy what has become a classic just as well as the younger generation. It has an excellent storyline as well as great puzzle solving and good action. Here is a review.

Response to Cost

December 9, 2007

This is a response to my cost entry. Yeah, consoles are pretty cheap considering what they cost six months ago. And they do come with some good games too. However, PC gaming is the best when it comes to graphics, complexity, and attention to detail. However, there is a price to pay. It can be ruinously expensive to upgrade a PC so that it can play top-of-the-line games. For elderly people, get your kids to buy and set up PCs for you. Otherwise, play consoles for now until PC parts drop.

Cost of the Gaming

December 9, 2007

A quick thought: One argument I’ve had heard is that consoles cost alot of money, sometimes over a half a grand. However, this only applies to the PS3 and that only until recently. The Nintendo Wii only costs $250, the Xbox 360 has dropped to $350, and the PS3 has dropped to $399.99. So price isn’t too much of a problem, especially if you are getting a Wii.

Reading to Reduce Dementia

December 9, 2007

Here is an article that talks about ways elderly people can reduce dementia. One of the ways is by reading, and I wonder if this can be accomplished through playing complex role playing games whose sole purpose is to tell a story. Tell me what you think.

Here’s an idea

December 7, 2007

Video game reviewing. Why not? It is perfectly understandable. Instead of reamining inactive all day at the nursing home, playing and then reviewing videogames can provide elderly people with: a job, mind stimulation, entertainment, increase critical thinking, and enhance their analytical abilities. Sounds good to me. Tell me what you think.

Wii Sports

December 7, 2007

This is definitely a good game for the older generation and should keep anyone active. Read this review for details on how it will do this.

Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games

December 7, 2007

Here is a good looking game that has to make considerable use of the Wii controllers. Seems to me like this has some merit when it comes to elderly people playing it. Read this review and let me know what you think.

Flash Focus

December 6, 2007

Here is a game that could help elderly people by stimulating their minds but their sight as well. This game could really increase the speed of thought for older people thereby enhancing their mind stimulation. Here’s the review.
